Spruce Up Your Cabinets
I used to find cabinet hardware kind of tricky because I didn't really know what I liked. I gravitated towards sort of quirky knobs. I used to like a lot of weird stuff, actually. But because I picked everything out based off of it's "quirkiness" and not necessarily how it looked with everything I already had, things got pretty out of hand pretty quickly. I mean, I liked it at the time and I still like to have a funny piece of art or something like that, but I no longer want everything to be unique. That sounds bad, but I mean it. If every single thing in your line of sight provokes a thought, when are you going to give your brain a break? I already feel so overstimulated with the crazy amount of technology in our house, and also with my two 18-month-old tornadoes running around. When I'm at home, I want to give my brain a break. Being out in the world these days is really kind of stressful, and your house needs to be a sort of haven. Is anybody tracking with me? Just me? I'm a weirdo? Cool.
Now that I've grown into my own style, I've learned that if you stick with a more neutral base that you know you won't get tired of, you have a lot more flexibility when it comes to accessorizing. It's infinitely easier to change the hardware on your cabinets than it is to paint said cabinets. I've rounded up a few of my favorite cabinet knobs that are both versatile and interesting. So maybe if you're looking to update a dresser or bathroom, but don't want to do anything major, this will give you a few ideas.
